Murray Hill Pediatric Dentistry is here for all your child’s exams and cleanings. Our doctors and staff really know how to connect with kids, build lasting relationships with them, and help them enjoy their visits.
Children’s Teeth Cleaning
During your kiddo’s appointment, they can watch a children’s movie while the hygienist cleans their teeth to remove any plaque buildup or tartar. After cleaning, the hygienist chats with patients about proper daily brushing and flossing routines and what foods are best to eat. We’ll give your little(s) a fun toothpaste flavor to take home too!
Pediatric Dental Exam
Next, the dentist will pop in and have a good look at their teeth and gums. Most of the time, the exam is quick and easy-breezy. If any problems do show up, the dentist will discuss them with you and your child. They’ll be happy to answer your questions and help you choose the best course of action. If more care is called for, we’ll set your little buddy a follow-up appointment before you go.
When should my child see a dentist?
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, every child should see a dentist by the time they get their first tooth and every six months after that. The first dental visit should be no later than their first birthday.
Why should my child see a dentist?
Routine dental cleanings and exams are necessary to help ensure that your child maintains a healthy mouth and good oral hygiene. Helping your child get into the habit of regular dental visits early in life will set positive dental habits into adulthood. Although care at home is also important, professional dental cleanings will help remove plaque buildup that can occur despite the best brushing and flossing methods.
